About me

I’m Yordan Dimitrov, a Senior Search Manager at Reflect Digital, speaker and photographer based in Brighton.

My interests have always crossed the analytical and the creative: technology, business, photography and understanding what makes people pay attention. Today, those interests come together in my work in search and in my photography business, YordanDim.

This website brings together my professional experience, writing and speaking, alongside a little more about the person behind the work.

My background and education

Originally from Bulgaria, I moved to the UK in 2009 at the age of 14. During secondary school, I developed an interest in technology, business and photography, and began exploring how those interests could connect through marketing.

I graduated from Coventry University in 2018 with a BA (Hons) in International Business Management. My degree included a placement year with a business providing website management services to the automotive industry.

That placement became the starting point for my career. After graduating, I returned to the business and continued developing my experience in SEO and account management, learning how to connect the technical work behind a website with the needs of the people and businesses using it.

My experience in search

My career has combined SEO, account management and working closely with clients across sectors including automotive, hospitality, leisure, e-commerce, storage and financial services. That variety has taught me to approach each business on its own terms rather than assume that the same strategy will work everywhere.

As Senior Search Manager at Reflect Digital, I develop data-led SEO strategies and work with colleagues across disciplines to turn opportunities into practical action. My work brings together technical SEO, content, prioritisation and delivery, with a focus on connecting search activity to business goals.

I’m particularly interested in how brand authority, trust and changing search behaviour influence discovery. I explore those themes through my articles, talks, podcasts and industry discussions.

I have also contributed to wider industry conversations, including a comment in SEOFOMO’s Organic Traditional & AI Search Trends for 2026: Top Challenges, Expectations & Actions, the round-up 2026 SEO Roadmap: 15 Experts on Technical, Content, and Brand for the AI Era by Gerry White for Take It Offline, and Day 5 of the free Summer of SEO 2026 course. I have also co-hosted three SEO Office Hours sessions.

Photography and YordanDim

Photography is both a creative outlet and a business for me through YordanDim.com.

My work includes coastal scenes, travel and places that have personal meaning to me, from Brighton and the surrounding coastline to my hometown of Troyan in Bulgaria. I’m drawn to the details that make a scene distinctive: light, atmosphere and moments that are easy to miss.

I founded YordanDim in 2010, developing my photography alongside my education and career in marketing. My work has been featured by National Geographic Bulgaria, on the Yahoo.com homepage, by Nikon and on Flickr’s Explore page. I have also licensed more than 150 photographs through Getty Images.

Giving back and challenging myself

I hold the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and fundraising has been part of my life since school.

At Wrekin College, I helped organise a charity head shave with fellow pupils and our housemaster, raising over £1,000 together for Cancer Research UK.

In 2022, I took on a 100-mile walking challenge to support Single Step Bulgaria, which provides support and safe spaces for LGBTQ+ young people and their families. I have also supported Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard by choosing it as a beneficiary of a workplace fundraising programme.

From Bulgaria to British citizenship

In August 2026, I became a British citizen, a milestone in a journey that began when I moved here as a teenager.

I wrote about that experience and what it meant to me in my LinkedIn article, “Today, I officially became a British citizen.”

Outside work

Away from search, I enjoy photography, pickleball, Formula 1 and Eurovision. Cats and dogs are also very welcome company.

Whether I’m out with my camera, playing pickleball or following a race, I enjoy having interests that give me something different to focus on.
